Spices not only improve the taste of your food, but if you are adding the right spices to your diet, they could also be giving you an often needed health boost. Many people are not aware of just how much goodness lies hidden within several everyday and easy to prepare Healthy Spices.

Cinnamon, for example, is a spice we are all familiar with yet most don’t know it reduces blood sugar levels, slows the breakdown of carbohydrates and improves our insulin sensitivity. This is great news for diabetics but also helps considerably in the prevention of diabetes as it removes some of the strain from the body. It can also reduce cholesterol and works as a really powerful antioxidant. So start sprinkling it on your cereal every morning.

This helps to slow down damage to the body but it also can act as an anti-inflammatory to the same level as drugs, plus reducing the risk of some cancer, heart disease and improving arthritis.

Holy basil can really help prevent infection as it inhibits the growth of many bacteria which is why it is thought of as a sacred herb in India whereas Cayenne pepper can reduce your appetite and helps to promote fat burning, a must for health addicts, but also has some anti-cancer properties.

  1. Good post! I have about 35 spices at home and I can’t live without them. They give so much natural flavor to food and besides; super healthy! They all have their own unique good effects 🙂
