If you’re looking for a multisport event to join in the East Coast, check out the upcoming New Jersey State Triathlon. It’s by far the biggest in NJ and was voted as one of the best triathlons in the country. This summer spectacle is sure to draw a great field and YOU can be included in the roster.
A Flat and Fast Course
The race offers sprint and Olympic distance categories which suit both beginners and veterans alike. Athletes like the course as it is known to be flat and fast — perfect when aiming to smash a personal record. It’s also a beautiful route that starts with a swim in the calm waters of Lake Mercer, goes on to the bike course around Mercer Park, and ends with a scenic run around paved trails. Transition areas are designed for smooth operation so that athletes can chase their goal time with minimal fuss.
A Showcase of Team Spirit
The 2015 edition of the race doubles as this year’s Mid-Atlantic Club Regional Championship as sanctioned by USA Triathlon. It means that, unlike most events, a lot of groups will be participating in the New Jersey State Triathlon as a cohesive team. This creates a unique dynamic on and off the course. Organizers are offering perks for groups of at least 20 people: a free tent or port a potty for the exclusive use of their members. That’s certainly a treat that makes race prep a lot less stressful.
A Fun Event Atmosphere
There are plenty of folks who join the race every year with many citing the event atmosphere to be the main draw. The long weekend is filled with fun and interesting activities for everyone. There’s an expo that goes on all day from Friday to Sunday where people can pick up their race kits and check up the latest tri gear. There’s also a kiddie fun run that makes the event a true family affair. After the race, athletes and supporters can enjoy live music, a beer garden, and excellent food for faster recovery.
